Joelle Spiegel, JD, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
SHE/HER
Joelle Spiegel earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Loyola University in Chicago and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois (License number 149023923.)
Joelle values her therapeutic relationships with her clients as the foundation of all clinical work. She is an LGBQIA- and TGNC-affirmative therapist, practices from a client-centered perspective, and seeks to collaborate with clients to create a meaningful therapy experience. Within this structure, the clinical relationship becomes the crucible through which clients’ histories and experiences can be explored and understood.
Joelle focuses on principles of attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness. Her past experience includes practicing law, working in transgender advocacy, volunteering with housing-unstable TGNC and LGBQIA youth, and supporting clients through difficult life transitions. Her areas of clinical passion and expertise include identity exploration and development, including gender identity and expression and sexual identity; supporting parents and siblings of transgender and gender non-conforming kids; relational trauma; family of origin issues; anxiety; and depression.
Joelle brings warmth and humor to her work and believes that we all benefit when we are working toward our highest and most authentic expression of ourselves. Outside of the office, Joelle enjoys biking, reading, practicing yoga, and walking by the lake.
