Licensed Counselor


Balanced Life Counseling is a collaborative and supportive group practice that is excited to expand our clinical team and is accepting applications for a new licensed counselor.

This is a flexible W-2 full-time hourly position with benefits offered.

Competencies:

All candidates for the licensed counselor position must:

  • Be clinically licensed or license-eligible in Illinois (LCPC, LPC, LCSW, LSW, LMFT, or ALMFT).

  • Have at least 2 years of experience in the mental health field.

  • Be trained in and have a strong interest to work with clients who have experienced trauma through a multi-systemic lens.

  • Must be passionate about working with folks in the LGBTQIA+ and gender expansive communities.

  • Value active participation in individual and group supervision/consults.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with community mental health and/or trauma experience.

  • Preference will be given to candidates who feel comfortable working with relationships/ couples as well as individual clients.

  • Preference will be given to candidates who are EMDR trained or willing to be EMDR trained within the first three months of employment.

  • Preference will be given to bilingual Spanish speaking candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to develop tailored treatment plans.

  • Provide individual and/or group therapy sessions utilizing various therapeutic techniques.

  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care and support.

  • Engage in continuous professional development and stay updated on best practices in mental health counseling.

Full-Time Candidates:

  • Full-time employees commit to at least 2 years of employment.

  • Be willing to schedule 22-25 clients per week.

  • Be willing to see clients 2-3 weekday evenings and 1 weekend day, if needed, to meet minimum requirements.

  • Be willing to engage in a hybrid schedule working in office 2 days per week and via telehealth for the remainder of schedule.

  • Be paneled or agree to be paneled with BCBS PPO, Aetna PPO, and Cigna.

Salary Transparency:

BLC provides hourly employee compensation that is percentage based and is commensurate with experience. Depending on caseload and clinical hours, Licensed Counselors can make an annual salary of $55,000 – $90,000.
