Grettel Romero is an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Illinois (License No. 208.001338). She has earned a Master of Science in Couples and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University, and is certified in Diverse Identity Inclusion Training. 

Grettel strives to create a supportive, judgement-free, and safe environment where clients can feel truly heard and motivated to work collaboratively in the therapeutic process. She is LGBTQIA+ affirming, poly competent, and culturally informed. She purposefully incorporates multicultural concepts in therapy because she believes that culture deeply impacts how we interact with ourselves and others. Grettel endeavors to help clients explore their innermost-selves and support them on their journey to where they want to be. 

Grettel has a client-centered and strength-based approach that values authenticity, inclusion, and nuance in the therapy room. Her goal is to assist clients in identifying their vision for themselves or their relationships and guide them toward actionable solutions that align with their values and future hopes. She has a passion for helping clients with intimacy concerns, communication issues, infidelity, co-parenting, and blended family dynamics. Grettel seeks to provide a sex-positive space where clients can feel free to communicate their needs openly. 

In her free time, Grettel enjoys reading and playing tabletop or video games as a way to both relax and continue learning. She is also passionate about cooking and baking, often experimenting to develop new recipes.
