DeJa Survillion is a Licensed Professional Counselor (IL license number: 178.019045.) She graduated with her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Northern Illinois University. She has also received special training in Sex Therapy through the Sexual Health Alliance in pursuit of becoming an ASSECT accredited Sex Therapist.
DeJa understands that relationships can be very difficult and she will assist you in addressing your worries while improving the relationship you have with yourself. DeJa is dedicated to changing ongoing cycles of suffering and hidden wounds by helping those who want to learn how to create better relationships. She believes you deserve to create meaningful connections and develop healthy relationships. Her passion is helping people turn their pain into pleasure.
DeJa has experience working with teens, adults, couples from various racial backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ population, kink community, and people in consensual non-monogamous relationships. DeJa believes it is important to analyze the intersections at which our identities overlap in addressing issues. She has worked with those with concerns consisting of but not limited to racial identity, anxiety, self-worth, co-dependency, love addiction, sexual empowerment, sexual abuse, trauma/ PTSD, stress, and relationship issues.
DeJa approaches treatment from an eclectic approach tailoring them to fit your needs. This includes a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness techniques, Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Attachment Based Theory and Gottman’s approach for couples. She believes with sexuality, art, and mindfulness, we can find holistic healing.
Outside of the office, DeJa is a visual artist who primarily works with acrylic and oil paints, she enjoys playing bass guitar, being outdoors, and traveling.
